Imperial War Museum

Founded in 1917, the museum was created to enlighten people about the impact several wars had on Britain and to show the progress in war-related technology. The museum has both temporary and permanent exhibitions. The permanent ones, for example, focus on the Holocaust, the work of Britain's Special Forces, espionage, and how ordinary families lived during wartime. It is definitely worth visiting the museum to learn more about the reality of what the human race did in the past and the present (some of the temporary museum's exhibitions focus on current events related to violent conflicts and war). The museum has also put great effort into their online podcasts, where contemporary witnesses talk about their experiences during the first world war.
