Pergamonmuseum
The Pergamonmuseum is possibly the most famous of the 5 museums on the Museumsinsel (museum island), a Unesco World Heritage site. It hosts ancient Greek, Roman, Middle-eastern and Islamic archeological treasures. The exhibit which gave this 1930 museum its name, the Pergamon altar, is under renovation until 2023 (together with other wings that are currently closed), but there are other world-class attractions on display, such as the blue Ishtar Gate of Babylon, the Mshatta façade and the ancient Roman Miletus Market Gate.
