La Central de Callao

Located in a former nineteenth-century stately home, La Central de Callao occupies 1,200 m2 and contains a collection of over 70,000 books specializing in philosophy, history, social sciences, and literature. The three floors of the building surround a central atrium, the old coach yard, where a tall cypress stands. In the building, you can also find a café-restaurant - El Bistró, on the ground floor, managed by the founders of two Barcelona businesses, Xocoa and Demasié, and a cocktail bar - El Garito, on the first floor, originally a tobacco storeroom, and a wide range of cultural activities are also held there.
